Disappointing Experience and Poor Customer Service

I visited the Pumpkin Festival with my six-year-old son after seeing the fun, family-oriented event described on the farm’s website. Sadly, the reality was very different.
When we arrived, the setup was chaotic — unclear queues, little direction, and overall poor organisation. Inside, it was confusing to know what was included or where to go. Most activities were overcrowded, unengaging, or required extra spending, and the “Wonka” theme didn’t really come through beyond costumes and a few decorations. We left after an hour, disappointed and feeling it was not worth the £33 we paid. After speaking to some people at the event, they felt the same, and the organisers even admitted that they had received another complaint after running for just 3 days.
I wrote to the organisers afterwards with detailed feedback, hoping they would take it constructively. Unfortunately, their reply was a standard response, which was defensive and impersonal (they didn’t even address me by name), focusing on justifying their costs rather than acknowledging a customer’s experience.
It’s a shame, because the event has potential and the décor was nice, but the lack of organisation, value, and empathy towards paying families makes it hard to recommend. I won’t be returning.
