Otago Central Rail Trail的点评
点评：The Gold Progress Poppet Head just outside Oturehua. Gold Mine .
Have not done the rail trail but a fantastic quick visit just off the main road Highway 85 and off the road to Oturehua village Reef Road . There’s a sign on the side of the road going toward the village and left turn and 3 minute drive to this historic location . There’s a gate with a sign on the right side of the road and a 20 min round trip walk to see this historic peice of Otago’s gold mining history . It’s one of 2 still left standing in NZ , there was 4 of us that walked in ( father 80)) and it’s a nice gentle walk into historic mine /Poppet Head . there are information plaques through out the walk , it’s a must see if your in the area . Great photo opportunity . Highly recommend !!
