Carlisle Castle的点评
点评：This is a great castle, with lots to see. There's a decent sized chunk you can go inside, with signs explaining the history, and what looked like some fun activities for kids. There's also a circular segment of walls you can walk along and get great views of the rest of the castle area.
What makes Carlisle Castle quite unique is that it was still a military base in the 20th century, so along with the more standard castle stuff, there's also military buildings within the walls, and a military museum with a lot packed into a small space.
There's no official tour around, but when I visited there were tours being run apparently on a volunteer basis. I didn't take one, but it was a nice thing for people who wanted it. The other nice thing that I didn't use was the cafe, next to the museum.
It was pretty busy when I visited, but there's enough to see that it wasn't crowded.
