点评：Found this place online as a good BBQ joint off the beaten path and a plus that TCM had a scene filmed here. Made the 2+ hour trek to visit, wanted to see some of the movie memorabilia and live the moment plus enjoy the food. Here is what I found…no TCM items to purchase, and the van replica from the scene no longer there. Learned from some patrons that a lawsuit was filed against the owners for selling unlicensed merchandise…terrible for them and customers alike.
So here is the deal….It is absolutely a cool place to visit where you reminiscence on horror movies, some from the past and others more recent. Lots of merchandise for purchase. Friendly staff, and the brisket was very good, potato salad extremely tasty, chili could use improvement in taste and also portion size. Price is good for the brisket plates but the mandatory 12% tip on orders >$45 is just a profit maker…I have no problem paying a tip but there must be an ROI…bringing my food out is expected, there was 0 service after that.
In summary, it’s an ok place with average food. If you want a few pics of the store front and you are into the film location and horror thing, give it a try. If you just want good BBQ and better service, a few spots in town will likely be better options.
