Charming medieval village along the Romantic Route

点评：Dinkelsbuhl is a charming medieval town located along the Romantic Route in southern Germany and makes for a nice visit for those doing this popular self-drive route. We recently stopped here and enjoyed nearly three hours sightseeing around Old Town before proceeding to Nordlingen.
Altstadt is nearly encircled within the medieval city walls which have impressive towers that you can see up close while walking the streets within as well as the old walking trails outside the Old Town where you find quite a bit of green space. We particularly enjoyed scenic pond outside Rothenburger Tower where you can take great pictures of the city wall.
The streets within Old Town are lined with medieval half-timbered houses that are really charming. There are a handful of hotels, plenty of restaurants, a few bakeries and coffee shops and retail shopping to go along with interesting sightseeing opportunities. We most enjoyed visiting St. George's Minister and seeing the charming Lion Fountain behind the church and just spending quiet leisure time strolling the streets of Dinkelsbuhl.
