Excellent small museum!
House of Sepharad的点评
点评：The House of Sepharad is a privately run Museum and Cultural Center whose objective is to restore and recover the memory and heritage of the Sephardic Judeo-Spanish community.
The Museum is structured into nine halls:
- Diaspora room, about the expulsion and dispersal of the Jews from Spain in the 15th century
- Synagogue room, with liturgical and non-liturgical elements related to this fundamental institution of Jewish religion and culture
- Language room, focusing on the language developed by Sephardic Jews, Judeo-Spanish or Ladino, based on Old Castilian and incorporating elements from various languages such as Catalan, Aragonese, Hebrew, Turkish, Greek, and Arabic
- Maimonides room, dedicated to the life and work of this philosopher, physician, and rabbi born in Córdoba
- Inquisition room, with a collection of original documents and works from the 15th to the 19th centuries, detailing the workings, scope, and consequences of the Spanish Inquisition
- Life Cycle room, with objects related to life milestones and domestic life: birth, circumcision, marriage, etc.
- Women room, with a collection of paintings by Luis Celorio dedicated to Jewish and converso women of Sephardic origin
- Festival Cycles room, with objects used in Sephardic religious celebrations
- Sephardic Music room, dedicated to Sephardic music and language, including instruments, sheet music, and QR codes to listen to a variety of traditional songs.
All the exhibited artifacts are very well explained (in Spanish and English).
In addition, there is a very beautiful patio, where a temporary exhibition was being held at the time of my visit (mid December 2025) about "El Pueblo del Cómic" (The Comic Book Town),
A small bookshop and a library can also be found here.
