Amazing Lagoon Cruise

点评：My whole family loved this trip and rated it higher than another private charter we did on the lagoon. Being able to spend time on the outer reef and view the corals, fish and turtles through the glass bottom, along with Captain Richard’s expert knowledge of the sealife, was brilliant.
We then headed back in to the lagoon and along the western edge to Honeymoon Island, stopping at a couple of amazing snorkelling spots within dedicated marine reserves with the opportunity to snorkel with giant trevally, giant clams (an introduced species), and small native clams. We also viewed a coral regeneration area through the glass bottom.
Richard gave us a quick walking tour around Honeymoon Island, showing us nesting tropicbirds, whilst his assistant crew member set out a lovely lunch of sandwiches, fresh fruit and donuts. Cold water and fresh coconut water, straight from the coconut, was provided on the boat. There’s an eco toilet on the island, it’s not great but I’ve experienced much worse around the world.
The tour was advertised as 3hrs but we were told prior that we could stay out for 4hrs if we wanted, and it ended up being 4+hrs all together. We weren’t expecting lunch as the new information that was emailed (not the Ootu website which is out of date) & a recent TripAdvisor review had said no food. The price was significantly higher than the out-of-date website, due to rising costs post-Covid, but is comparable to other lagoon cruises. The boat is aging, but we didn’t let that deter us from having the best experience.
