Disappointing – not a good way to see Hwaseong Fortress
Hwaseong Fortress Tourist Trolley的点评
点评：We booked the Suwon tourist trolley hoping it would be a good way to get an overview of Hwaseong Fortress and the city walls before exploring further on foot. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it for this purpose.
I think there must have been significant changes because other reviews sound nothing like our experience.
Booking online beforehand is recommended but it was impossible if you can’t read Korean, and the website was challenging to navigate.
Our trolley ride lasted only about 20 minutes. It covered perhaps 25% of the fortress wall, did not go anywhere near Paldalmun Gate, and we saw virtually nothing that we hadn’t already seen walking around the area beforehand.
There was little commentary, and the limited commentary that was provided was entirely in Korean, so we gained no understanding of the history or significance of what we were passing.
If you are hoping the trolley will give you a useful overview of Hwaseong Fortress, particularly if your time in Suwon is limited, I would not rely on it. We found exploring the fortress and surrounding areas on foot much more worthwhile.
