点评：Our experience started off on the wrong foot: before the first drive we were asked, rather bluntly, to hand in our mobile phones, which were locked away. It set the tone. We did four game drives; one was quiet with few animals and no tiger. But on another we witnessed something I’ll never forget: a tiger creeping slowly and silently toward a deer herd by a lake, pausing for minutes in an eerie stillness before striking. It was both heartbreaking and awe-inspiring - hearing the deer’s distress calls for what felt like forever (around 10 minutes), while the rest of the herd exploded from the water in a single panicked wave. Raw, intense, and unforgettable - and frustrating not to have a photo.
On the same drive we also saw a cobra, and I would have loved just one picture as a memory. I truly hope India will reconsider or at least soften this rule. Clear guidelines on silence, no phone calls, and restrictions on commercial filming make sense, but a total ban for ordinary visitors is hard to justify when cameras are still allowed. Kanha can be incredible, but if taking memories on your phone matters, consider a safari in Kenya or South Africa, where there isn’t the same blanket ban on mobile phones.
