Good shipwreck destination - but...

点评：I you're going to be shipwrecked this is an ideal destination, Beautiful environment, beaches, snorkelling among turtles above the coral. But.... you wouldn't be waiting for rescue long in the holiday season. As others have noticed getting there is not pain free, a speed boat takes 1.5 hours, these carry 40+passengers are powered by 3 x 4 stroke outboards, it is too noisy to talk other than the odd word shouted repeatedly directly in the ear. Also you can't actually see anything at all when on the boat. The crew are keen to keep to their schedule so lots of "you have 15 minutes" and refreshments and food are all allocated as fast as possible and are "flight meals." The boats back up to the beach everyone gets off and then the boat moves off the shore and another one takes its place. Probably up to 400 people disembark taking selfies as they drape themselves alluringly in the surf.
Arranging these tours is a mainstay of the Khao Lak Tourist economy so they are promoted everywhere locally but all appear to have the same offer of food, snorkelling, light refreshments, meals taxi/minibus transfer, 2 or 3 islands visited (If its too rough there's no underwater visibility and they may skip an island stop or snorkelling site)
