点评：Visiting the Temple of Artemis in Jerash was one of those moments where history suddenly feels larger than life. Standing at the base of its towering Corinthian columns, we couldn’t help but look up in awe—these giants have been here since the 2nd century AD, yet they still command the hillside like guardians of the ancient city.
As we climbed the steps, the view opened up across Jerash, giving us a whole new appreciation for how perfectly this temple was positioned. Artemis was the patron goddess of the city, and you can absolutely feel that sense of importance in the scale and detail of what remains. Even with much of the temple now in ruins, the craftsmanship is unreal—intricate carvings, enormous stone blocks, and columns so well-balanced that some of them famously sway with the lightest touch.
We wandered around taking in the quiet of the courtyard, imagining what this place must have looked like when it was alive with rituals, music, and worship. And honestly? It ended up being one of our favourite stops in the entire ancient city. The temple isn’t just beautiful—it’s atmospheric, impressive, and gives you a real sense of Jerash’s former power.
