Fantastic adventure for the group of 12 Mining & Metallurgical students.
Cornwall Underground Adventures的点评
点评：In February 2026, I hosted Camborne School of Mines’ International Student Week, and we visited the Cot Valley to do the Underground Adventurer with Ben & Rowan. It was definitely the highlight of the week for the 10 visiting students in our group & 2 CSM students, starting with the stunning view of the (man-made!) landscape & an even more impressive mine to explore.
Ben was a great guide, explaining the fascinating & lesser known facts about the area as we walked up to the entrance. Despite English not being everyone’s first language, Ben & Rowan made sure the instructions & explanations were clear to the internationals, which was superb. Ben is a really enthusiastic & knowledgeable mine explorer, with an interest in every aspect we could talk about down there.
The route itself was awesome! It had extensive sections ranging from horizontal traverses over voids, to climbing up and abseiling down vertical faces along the lode, as well as crawling through the older mine workings. The route had a brilliant variation of obstacles & paths, which took us around 3.5 hours to journey through.
Definitely a memorable day out for anyone keen on an adventure & Cornish history.
We’ve already planned to return again in the near future. Thanks Ben, and thanks Rowan, for the fantastic day out. It really was the cherry on top for this ISW’s activities.
