点评:It took us about an hour to drive from Seven Mile Beach to Starfish Point. We went since it was frequently mentioned on tour sites. We arrived around 9am and were able to park in the small parking lot. BRING BUG SPRAY! You do a short walk through a wooded area and the mosquitoes were intense!!! Fortunately we had bug spray with us so they didn't bother us after we applied it.
We saw starfish but they weren't numerous. It was nice to see the starfish and spend 30 mins here. You're not suppose to hold the starfish above the water because it harms them, so it's sad to see so many pictures posted of people holding starfish out of the water. You can hold them UNDER the water. The water is clear so you can still take a picture without harming them. There are signs posted about not taking them out of the water. Tour guides will also tell you this.
Later that week, we went on a snorkel and stingray tour. Unfortunately our tour was changed at the last minute and one of the snorkel sites was substituted for Starfish Point and took us back to the same area. The guide mentioned that there has been a significant decrease in the amount of starfish over the past decade so was adamant about ensuring safe handling.
If you have a car, I would drive instead of spending money on a tour. I may go back here if I happen to be on that part of the island again. I'm not sure I would make a trip specifically for this place again. It seems like the starfish need some rest and recovery from humans.
