Not dog friendly in the summer
Swanage Beachfront的点评
点评：Visited in the past but out of season so didn't realise dogs are not allowed on ANY of the main beach in summer.
the visitor centre was helpful telling us about 'monkey beach' but this was unsuitable for the kids and dog (my dog has arthritis so the huge pebbles are not suitable for him to run on) and it was far away from the main sandy beach that the kids wanted to play on.
luckily we were with friends so we took turns sitting in the shade with the dog near the main beach while the kids played. lots of dog friendly pubs in Swanage which made going for dinner easy.
We just won't return in the summer if the beach remains that restricted. (other beaches like Weymouth and Weston Super Mare have a dog friendly section of the sandy beach all year making it easier for families to go out together)
one thing we do like about Swanage is the town is super close to the beach and there is lots to do for families.
parking is expensive if you are only visiting for the day.
