Pilpintuwasi - Wildlife Rescue Center And Butterfly Farm的点评
点评：We stayed in Iquitos centre and got a motortaxi (S3-S5) to Puerto Bellavista-Nanay. After being swarmed by tour operators, we politely declined their suggestions and headed through the market to the boats lined up.
Look for the public, ‘collectivo’ boats, ask for the one to take you to Padre Cocha. It is best not to mention “butterfly centre/ Pilpintuwasi” at this stage (for fear of being taken to the wrong butterfly centre) simply say you want to go to Padre Cocha. The price is S3 per person on the public boats or you can get a private boat. We went with a man called Teylor who had his own boat, he proved to be trustworthy and charged us S5 per person to get to Padre Cocha (this took 15-20 minutes).
When you arrive in Padre Cocha, Pilpintuwasi isn’t well sign posted and there are signs for the other butterfly farm just before it which will try and lead you there. Look for the “Original” butterfly farm (white sign) and ask the locals to guide you if you get lost! It should only take 15 minutes to walk there.
The approach to Pilpintuwasi is pretty long and it feels like it’s closed on approach. Don’t give up, you’ll be greeted by the Austrian owner, Gudrun and/or volunteers.
The work the centre does is truly incredible. There is an array of animals (including a Jaguar) not just butterflies, all of which have been rescued.
