点评：Did route 66 in April and May and what a great trip. The group leader was Richard Wynkoop who was on his 69th route 66 trip and Vance Johnson was the support vehicle driver. Both excellent but Richard made sure nothing went wrong. It was so well organised. Richard was welcomed personally at the majority of stops we made.
I am glad we did it east to west as the scenary just got better and better especially from New Mexico. I have done around 10 of these guided trips in Asia and Europe and these 2 guides where the best I have experienced. I did also keep my bike for 4 extra days and went off to do yosemite and sequoia, which was fantastic and recommended.
The accommodation we stayed in was fine and was all very close to the sites you want to see. This tour is fairly hard and you do sleep at night, but you do a lot. The included helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon was great. Its the 1st trip I really feel I have achieved something. People are more intrested in this trip than any other I have done. We came across nothing but kindness from the locals we came across.
A couple of things about Eagle Rider admin side. It was excellent but they did tend to sell things that did upset a number of people on the group. I thought I had paid for the top insurance and checked with ER before I went. But on picking up the bike I was told I could do with paying around £500 for 3rd party insurance. I also paid for break down cover which considering they brought a spare bike not sure why I did. But my experince in holidaying In USA is you always get caught out with Motor insurance. There is always something you need.
