点评:Me, my fiancee, and our friend couple spent three days with the Maasai Boma in the Tanzanian wilderness. It was one of the most remarkable experiences of our lives, even though we have already used to seeing incredible things in our adventures across the globe.
Visit Natives offers something truly unique, which is not only an adventure to a foreign culture, but more in-depth way to build a real relationship with the maasai people. The booking experience was as smooth as you can expect from a finn, the driver Abeli was the nicest guy to be there with you and Peter the chef made us really comforting food!
Then the best thing about our trip: Nathan, our local Maasai Guide. The best guide we have ever had. He is a unique combination of education and politeness, without still losing the true Maasai in him. He understands world outside Maasai community but still is from heart, a Maasai who can extremely captivatingly open their world for us in a way that truly changes the way we see the world.
If being honest, we came in thinking that we are going to see people who live in poor and unfortunate conditions. What shook our world view is that we understood they are not poor, they are rich, happy and fortunate. They live the life closer to nature than we, and they live as they want, not as they have to.
We got to milk goats, participate into their celebration dance ritual, saw the nature (and giraffes within 10 meters by walking), visited their huts, cooked and drank tea with the families.
The whole crew and Anniina made us feel really safe even though we did not truly know what we were up to.
