The landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and white sands around Phi Phi Island are truly breathtaking — the natural beauty is undeniable. However, the overall tour experience left us disappointed.
We specifically booked a catamaran to avoid the bumpiness of a speedboat, paying more for a smoother ride. Unfortunately, we ended up on what they called a "speed catamaran," which felt exactly like a regular speedboat. When we asked, the crew confirmed they’re essentially the same — so why charge extra?
Tip: If you're prone to motion sickness, definitely take Gravol. The ride was very rough, and someone behind me ended up vomiting.
Once we arrived at Phi Phi Island, we were surprised to find we only had time to eat and visit the restroom — no time to enjoy the beach or walk around. After all the travel and discomfort, it felt like a missed opportunity.
At Monkey Island, we saw a few monkeys from the boat but didn’t actually get to go ashore. Then came Maya Bay, which was the one real highlight — it’s stunning, peaceful, and well protected. Even without swimming allowed, it’s worth the visit for the views and photos.
Snorkeling was a pleasant surprise — thanks to a helpful guide, we got to see baby sharks and some beautiful fish. That part I’m truly grateful for.
Our final stop was at another island with gorgeous sand, but it was sadly full of trash. The public toilets were expensive and very dirty, and we could actually see waste flowing into the sea — a heartbreaking sight in such a naturally beautiful place.
In short, the area is incredible, but the tour needs better organization and environmental management. These islands deserve more care, both for the locals and for the tourists who travel far to see them.
