Three days of unforgettable experiences
Above and Beyond Tours of Caithness的点评
点评：In June, my husband and I had three days of wonderful experiences with our personal guide (owner Karl) from Above and Beyond Tours – Caithness.
We have independently travelled mid to the borders of Scotland extensively by car over the past few years, but this year we travelled by train which limited our experiences mainly to cities. We have longed to travel to the very north, particularly on the NC 500 route. I contacted Karl and after a couple of emails we had worked out a 3-day private guided tour.
Just working with Karl on the planning we felt that we would be in good hands; we were not wrong. From the moment he picked us up from our accommodation in Golspie we had an amazing time. His love and knowledge of the highlands is unquestionable, and we felt we were travelling with a friend. The car we travelled in was the most comfortable I have ever been in, and we reaped the benefits of having someone who knew the narrow roads. Had we driven ourselves we would have missed so much of the beautiful scenery and the interesting places we stopped at. Karl was so knowledgeable about the history and ways of life of the highlands.

For anyone interested here is a brief synopsis of our trip:
Day 1. PIcked up in Golspie, travelled west to the coast then from just north of Ullapool we travelled the NC500 to Dunnet and Smoo Cave (a must see), and onto Thurso.
Day 2. Picked up in Thurso, and travelled to John O’Groats, Duncansby Stacks, Wick and back to Thurso.
Day 3. Picked up in Thurso, caught ferry from to Orkney, remainder of the day exploring Orkney and returning back on a different ferry from Stromness to Scabster then back to Thurso.
