点评:The 9/11 museum and memorial was high up on my bucket list if I ever got back to New York which I was luckily enough to do this March.
9/11 has captured my interest since the day it happened and I watch every documentary that comes on about it and follow lots of groups on Facebook and Instagram. It was incredibly sobering; especially the room where all the really tough and heartbreaking stuff is. Hearing the voice recordings and seeing the artefacts was so sad. After spending 3 hours in the museum we went to the reflecting pools where I located a lady to whom I wanted to pay my respects to. Over the years of reading so much stuff about 9/11, I discovered this lady was born on the same day and month as me and she originally hailed from the city I live in. She was only in New York on business from the UK, attending a conference in the North tower. I visited specifically on our birthday as I wanted to leave a tribute to let her know that she was not forgotten.
Next to O’Hara’s Irish pub which is across the road from the memorial pools is a beautiful bronze plaque depicting the scenes of that day and a plaque dedicated to the FDNY lives lost.
A must visit for anybody interested in the events of 9/11. This is something everybody living in or visiting New York should visit to pay their respects to those who lost their lives on that fateful day. Never Forget.
