Cat Tales Cat Cafe的点评
点评：I cannot recommend Cat Tales Cafe based on how our family was treated during the adoption process.
After adopting two cats, we returned one after a week because, despite following all recommended guidance, she remained extremely fearful, scratched my daughter's face, wouldn't eat or drink unless we brought everything to her, and repeatedly eliminated outside the litter box. We believed she needed a quieter home, and Cat Tales initially assured us they would help us find a better match.
Before our appointment, I expressed interest in two kittens, Strawberry and Quill. Instead of allowing us to spend time with them, Ilene repeatedly redirected us toward a newly arrived cat she admitted she knew very little about. The cat clearly wanted to hide, yet we were encouraged to force interactions. Meanwhile, the kittens we had asked about were happily playing with visitors, but my 11-year-old daughter felt uncomfortable even approaching them because we were continually steered away.
The most upsetting part came when I again expressed interest in Strawberry. Ilene responded, in front of my daughter, "Is this how you ended up with four kids?" I was shocked by how inappropriate and personal that comment was. When I explained that we had struggled with fertility before having our family, she simply replied, "We'll find her a good home."
We left heartbroken and without a cat. I sent a respectful email afterward explaining my concerns but received no response—only a refund of our adoption fee. There was no acknowledgment of the inappropriate comment or the way we were treated.
Adoption organizations absolutely have the right to decide where cats are placed. My issue is that we were never given a fair opportunity to bond with the cats we had expressed interest in, and when I raised concerns, they were ignored.
Families deserve respect, the opportunity to form their own connections with adoptable pets, and accountability when concerns are brought forward. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Cat Tales Cafe.
