Winter Illuminations and a drizzly day visit too

点评：We’d booked for the Winter Illuminations and decided to make a day of it and also visit the wildlife park beforehand.
It wasn’t my first visit to YWP but it was my friend’s. I’d told her it was a big place but I don’t think it really sank in until we were there and we essentially walked round the entirety, twice in one day, with her on crutches! Whoops! But at least it’s pretty much level flooring there!
It drizzled all day with no let up but we managed to see the polar bears, lions, tigers, spotted hyena and the elusive leopard, amongst lots of others. Sadly, missed the Roloway Monkeys this time (they’re great fun to watch!).
After the ‘day’ finished we had a couple of hours spare so went to check in to our hotel (avoid The Raceby behind the Dome - truly diabolical, we almost slept in the car!) and to get some sustenance before ‘round 2’!
The Illuminations were wonderful! Hundreds, if not thousands, of animal lanterns. They were so lovely to look at! We went on the first night and there appeared to be a couple of technical hitches with some of the lights but the majority were working absolutely perfectly and the staff were on full alert trying to fix any niggles as they were spotted.
Seeing a tiger prowling around in the dark was super special! If we hadn’t stopped to quietly listen and look we’d never have spotted this, probably, once in a lifetime sight!
All the staff working the Illuminations were fantastic and one person in particular took the time to take some photos for us in the tunnel of twinkly lights, which was really kind. We also stopped for an after with a couple of other staff, letting them know how wonderful it was and sharing stories of our dire hotel and where we should have booked! Noted for next time!).
Looking forward to the next lot of Illuminations!

“一天”结束后，我们还有几个小时的空闲时间，于是去酒店办理入住（千万别去穹顶后面的Raceby酒店——简直糟透了，我们差点在车里睡着了！），并补充能量，准备迎接“第二轮”的到来！
灯光秀太精彩了！成百上千个动物造型的灯笼，美得让人移不开眼！我们第一晚去的，虽然有些灯似乎有点小故障，但大部分都运行完美，工作人员也时刻保持警惕，一旦发现问题就立即解决。
看到一只老虎在黑暗中徘徊，真是太特别了！如果我们没有停下来静静地聆听和观看，可能永远都不会看到这难得一见的景象！
所有灯光秀的工作人员都非常棒，其中一位还特意抽出时间在闪烁的灯光隧道里帮我们拍照，真是太贴心了。我们还和几位工作人员聊了一会儿，告诉他们灯光秀有多棒，也分享了我们之前住的糟糕酒店的种种经历，以及我们应该订哪家酒店！下次一定订更好的！
期待下一季的灯光秀！
