点评：We highly recommend Royal Historical Tours for anyone who wants to learn about and be guided to their family roots or just interested in exploring a new county in Ireland.
Ian Darragh and their team do thorough research in advance. And Aisling is an excellent organizer and experienced businessperson.
Ian is a great, personal tour guide. While he is an excellent storyteller, he also has deep historical and cultural knowledge of the areas we visited. He conducted a reconnaissance of our family townlands in advance of our trip, to verify the actual sites of our family. That included maps and records, but also approaching local people for specific references and recommendations. And, indeed, we were taken to the cottage from which our family emigrated to the US during the Famine.
At a personal level, Ian is very attentive to his guests, and thoughtful about their comfort and the pacing of daily activities. In a very wet and rainy day my wife twisted her ankle on a covered headstone. Ian took care of her limitations thereafter.
Thanks to Royal Historical our long-planned trip to Ireland was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. At the end, we received a wonderful bound, hard cover book from Aisling of my family’s references back two hundred years coupled with relevant Irish history. We are forever appreciative.
