Unprofessional and unsafe experience with guide Tsatsaa Manlai

点评：I wanted to share a negative experience my boss and his wife had during their trip to Mongolia with the guide Tsatsaa Manlai. They had a confirmed tour to Mongolia for July 2025, booked through TourHQ. We arranged it directly with Ms. Manlai, and our agreement stipulated that the guide would personally pick up the tourists from the airport on July 3rd, lead them on tours through Mongolia from July 4th to 6th, and return them to the airport on July 8th. We paid the official deposit through TourHQ, and everything was confirmed several times with the guide.
The day before our arrival, we contacted Ms. Manlai again to confirm the trip. Ms. Manlai, without consulting us, suddenly changed the plan, stating that she had mixed up the tourists' arrival dates and would send a different driver (without prior approval) to pick them up. This raised serious concerns about the guide's safety and integrity. She also claimed that the advance payment was a tax for TourHQ, and she should receive the full payment in cash. Finally, further confirming our concerns, she requested that we send photos of the tourists' passports via WhatsApp, which seems very unwise.
Fortunately, the TourHQ support team immediately addressed our concern and assigned a new, fantastic guide from Silk Road Mongolia, named "Bat," who led the tour brilliantly and additionally spoke French (the tourists are French). More guides like this are welcome!
We would like to thank the TourHQ support team for their quick response and invaluable assistance, as well as for the brilliant guide we were ultimately assigned. However, we would like to warn against guide Manlai – if you expect professionalism and honesty, do not book a trip with her. This person should not be guiding foreign tourists in Mongolia.
