Unfortunately, our granddaughter suffered a serious foot injury and was medically unable to travel. More than four weeks before our scheduled trip, we contacted the company, explained the situation and saying we could provided supporting documentation if needed.
Of the €350 deposit paid, only €140 was refunded. We were advised that €200 would be retained, and a further €10 was deducted for transfer fees. This was particularly disappointing as we had also incurred transfer fees when sending the original deposit.
Our main concern was that at no stage during the quote, booking or email correspondence were we provided with a cancellation policy or advised that such significant cancellation fees could apply. We believe these terms should be clearly disclosed before a deposit is paid.
After receiving the refund, I sent another email expressing my disappointment and asking for clarification, but received no response.
While our previous experience with this company was positive, the way this cancellation and refund were handled left us disappointed. We would encourage future customers to obtain written confirmation of cancellation and refund policies before making any payment.
