点评:Spent a week with two friends from South Lancs Royal Enfield Owners Club at Adam's Tenerife on Triumphs.
We are used to the heavily potholed and narrow twisty roads in the North West of England and adjoining Wales. Tenerife was something else. Barely saw a pothole, surfaces were perfect as were the bikes presented by Adam (we had two speed twins and a T120). The speed twins were perfect however the T120 too powerful for the back roads in Tenerife.
I have a Royal Enfield Interceptor (650 cc). This type of motorcycle would have coped but been heavy on changing between the first three gears; a 350 cc RE would have coped better. The speed twin 900 cc was perfect for me utilising first and second gear for the twisties and hairpins. The T120 was too powerful for its rider and therefore somewhat disappointing.
Adam and Danni were perfect hosts and their bungalow (Casa Triumph) on site and with a private bar, ideal.
I rapidly learned how to cope with 180+° hairpin bends and rarely got into third gear on the speed twin.
The tour of La Gomera started early with the short ferry trip. The roads even more twisting than Tenerife plus it started to rain with sheets of water bring minor rock falls across the road; all added to the experience and at about 30°C all soon dried out.
This is not a cheap holiday but you get what you pay for and from Tenerife on Triumph you do get a lot for your money.
