点评：This was the fifth trip in three years that I booked with Dabuka. As a group of three friends in the advanced-age category, we had accumulated a list of yet-to-visit destinations in Egypt: Siwa Oasis, the White Desert, Maydum, Lisht, Alexandria, and—first and foremost—the GEM just after its spectacular opening. We asked Dabuka to organize everything for us except the flights, covering all these destinations in a 10-day trip.
After the first day in Cairo, visiting the GEM and the Coptic Quarter, we spent five days with our trusted driver Mohammed in a comfortable air-conditioned van, traveling to Siwa and back with an overnight stop in Alexandria. After another night in Cairo, we continued to Bahariya, where we switched into one of Dabuka’s J76 Land Cruisers to explore the Black and White Desert, Wadi Hitan, and the ancient Egyptian necropoleis of Maydum and Lisht, with three nights of camping in the desert.
Literally the only thing we had to take care of ourselves were the flights. From arrival at Cairo Airport to departure, everything was planned and organized reliably by our friends at Dabuka: airport transfers, drivers and cars, hotels, desert camping, all tickets and fees, local guides, and some surprise events—like a wonderful chill-out evening at Fatnas Peninsula and dune-riding fun south of Siwa. As always, the Dabuka team was incredibly flexible in adapting to our last-minute change requests. During the remote parts of the journey, the Dabuka headquarters checked in twice a day by phone to make sure everything was running smoothly.
I am already planning the next trips and am especially looking forward to the planned Solar Eclipse Tour with Dabuka in 2027.
