点评：My husband and I joined the inaugural Coast to Coast tour in Florida with Discovery Bicycle Tours this February, and it exceeded our expectations. The route took us from Clearwater Beach on the Gulf to Merritt Island on the Atlantic, using thoughtfully selected segments that were overwhelmingly on paved bike paths. Much of the riding wound through peaceful wilderness areas, with occasional stretches through small communities.
Highlights included the sweeping carpets of saw palmettos under the slash pines and vesper sparrows darting across the trail in the Starkey Preserve. Lake Apopka was unforgettable for its abundance of water birds and alligators. Our guides, Steve and Eric, were outstanding—organized, attentive, and consistently making sure we were comfortable, on schedule, and well fed.
A special surprise was watching a SpaceX rocket launch on our final night. It was the perfect ending to a memorable trip. We would gladly take this tour again.
