Great tour options in Wrangell–St Elias

点评：We did two of our three tours in Wrangell–St Elias with this operator. First, the Mill tour is very interesting and provides important history of the Kennicott site. We did it the afternoon of our arrival and it was a nice way to kick off our stay. Second, we did the day long rafting and flightseeing trip. The rafting is mostly a float, but does have a few fun rapids. You will get wet, but they outfit you well. A simple lunch is provided - hot drinks very welcome. Do this trip for the scenery as there’s scarce wildlife, but we did have the rare treat of spotting a wolverine. There’s a bit of a wait at the end of the rafting to be flown out — the “flightseeing” is really just transit out, so another flightseeing tour won’t be redundant. St Elias Guides is a professionally run outfit, conveniently located in Kennicott across from the Lodge (and they have an office in McCarthy too)
