Roadtrip from Palm Springs - Whitewater Whilderness Preserve - water oasis in the desert!

点评：Please note: white this is technically in Riverside County but is a lot closer to Palm Springs than it is to Riverside, CA.
What a superb FREE outdoor experience, no matter the time of year. Depending on the winter's snowfall, this place can still be easily flowing even in September or the fall. Who would think you could find such a beautiful flowing stream amidst the arid desert? If in Palm Springs, this is a great, close little road trip to experience nature. About a ten minute drive off of Interstate 10, there's a parking lot and beautiful, serene picnic area. A short, flat walk along the trail brings you into a rocky valley with glorious water flowing non-stop. I'm sure it varies depending on the month, but we've been there in February, April, June and even October and it's been beautiful to carry a lightweight folding chair and set up by the flow. Probably too hot midday in summer, but otherwise a great place. People even take dips where it's safe to do so.
Escape the urban glitz of Palm Springs and get back to nature. Gorgeous.
