Great for beginners but lacks variety and very dependent on conditions

点评：This is a tough one to rate. I took my three teenage daughters who were skiing for the first time. It was my first time skiing for 22 years.
Firstly, the ski school attached to the Norefjell Ski & Spa is excellent - five out of five. Oliver and Kristian both got top marks from all three girls. They had great fun and were all paralleling by the end of the week, despite the tough conditions. The hire kit was decent and the staff on the lifts were attentive and on the ball.
And that's where the resort falls down a bit. There are not many slopes and even fewer to choose from when half are closed. Conditions were very icy for much of our stay, but because my daughters were learning this actually helped sharpen up their technique. There were heavy snowfalls towards the end of our stay which then really opened their eyes.
For my part, having a limited choice of runs helped to curb my over-enthusiasm after such a long lay-off. I got my ski legs back after a couple of days and made the most of what they had, so it worked quite well for me too.
I've given this four stars because it served its purpose for us very well. But I don't think we would go back. With my daughters comfortably skiing blues and with my own skiing back in the groove again, we'll be going somewhere else next year with more variety and a bit more to do in the evenings.
