点评:You can catch the train to Tigre station from Retiro or Belgrano C, or any of the intermediate stops from BA on the Mitre line.
Martin meets you at the station and then you zoom upriver to pick up kayaks at his delta-house.
I was glad to get out of Tigre itself as it was packed with Easter-weekend visitors and the number of boats churning up the river was madness. (This was nothing compared to the scary trip back as it went dark, when the river in Tigre itself was thronging with poorly-lit jet skis, dinghies, passenger cruisers and day boats. I’m sure everyone knew what they were doing but, for me, it was an adrenaline rush!
Kayaking the side channels was the highlight. I’d have been really happy sticking to these small channels as some of the passing motor boats didn’t slow their engines as much as they could have done, which created a bit of a wash. Martin did tell us what to do but he was generally out of earshot on the three-person kayak.
The trip was definitely a highlight for our teenagers - probably their review would be 5*.
