点评:Monday 16th June we took a walk around this former Brewery site in the centre of the Town of Dorchester.
The old Brewery buildings have been very sympathetically restored and converted in to a variety of uses including housing, restaurants, cafes, cinema and other outlets.
Dotted around the Square are some interesting features, which made it an interesting place to walk around.
This included a large paved area with a number of water spouts embedded in the ground that creates a pulsating fountain with morphing lights. We also spotted an old brewing vessel sited on the pavement.
Outside one of the entrances to the Square is a large bronze statue of a dray horse. The horse's name is Drummer who was the last dray horse to work at the Eldridge Pope Brewery.
Another feature is the old brewery chimney, that is reportedly 110 feet high, and dominates the Town's skyline. Running down the chimney the large white letters spell out Brewery Square.
