Incredible safari!
Wild Journeys的点评
点评：I had the trip of a lifetime last year thanks to Carl at Wild Journeys—it's taken me far too long to write this review!
From the start, Carl took the time to understand where I had travelled before and what I was looking for in this trip. Based on that, he designed an itinerary that was absolutely perfect for me. As we worked through the planning process and flight logistics, we landed on an incredible safari through South Africa, Botswana, and to Victoria Falls.
Wild Journeys handled everything: hotels, transfers, tours, and the short flights within Africa. They also communicated my preferences to each local operator, which made it so easy for me. I was concerned that it may be difficult to get vegetarian food, especially on the tented safari but it was seamless. I was provided with a detailed itinerary and contact information for everyone involved, which made travelling between locations very easy.
The safari experience itself was incredible. I travelled during the rainy season, which meant there were very few vehicles out on safari—something I really appreciated. In Botswana, there were many times when we were the only vehicle at wildlife sightings. The guides were fantastic: extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and eager to share information about the animals and environment.
Some of the highlights included lions walking within two meters of our vehicle (you could feel the ground vibrate as they called each other), watching a pack of wild dogs hunt impala, and seeing a python eating an impala. The birdlife was also amazing! Since it was summer, many migratory birds from Europe were present. As we drove through tall grass, it was incredible to watch them flying around the vehicle, catching insects.
Carl clearly knows where to visit and which operators to work with to make the most of your time on safari. I highly recommend booking through Wild Journeys if you're planning a trip to Africa.
