点评:The course was in very nice shape, and the employees were friendly. Unfortunately, our experience was pretty well ruined by what seemed to be a complete failure to pick up on clues that even the most basic staff training should have caught.
For example, when **two guys show up to play golf with one bag of clubs**, perhaps that’s the moment someone should become curious. Maybe ask, “Do you both have GHIN numbers?” Or perhaps, “Gentlemen, if you’re both playing, you’ll need to rent another set of clubs.”
Then, before sending them off from the Rust tees from which they selected to play, another wildly complicated question might have helped: **“What are your handicaps?”**
“Oh, you don’t have one? Hmmm…” That might be another clue.
At that point, perhaps the marshal should keep an eye on them and, if necessary, move them forward a few tees. Admittedly, that may not have saved these particular gentlemen—most of their drives seemed to travel about 60 yards before disappearing into whatever trouble happened to be available.
But the staff’s responsibility isn’t just to protect the golf course. How about protecting the **other two golfers who drew the unlucky cards from the deck** and got paired with them?
Five hours of watching golf’s version of **Whac-A-Mole** is a very long afternoon.
Nice course. Nice people. But somebody needs to teach the staff to recognize the warning signs before two golfers’ bad day becomes everybody else’s bad day.
