12 hour bespoke private tour from Kandy to Yala
Deshan's Tour of Sri Lanka的点评
点评：We spent 12 hours with Deshan who did a bespoke tour for us from Kandy to Yala. Due to the works on the train we decided on this option and it was much better than the train as we were able to stop and take it the countryside much more than being on the train. We saw wonderful views, stopped at a few waterfalls, a tea plantation, lunch in Kandy, then dropped off at our next accommodation near Yala National Park.
It was lovely to get to know Deshan for the day, the best way to learn about a country is to spend some time with the locals. Deshan was friendly, warm, interesting, professional, and arranged a lovely day for us. We also stopped at th Nine Arch Bridge and he saw a train was coming so ran down the hill to get a good video for me. What an absolute star!
We were happy for Deshan to decide our itinerary mainly, but at no point were we taken to his "mates shop" or anywhere with a hard sell/tourist trap, which we appreciated a lot. Even the tea plantation, we just hung out and had a nice tour and some tea and only paid for drinks.
Deshan is super interesting and knowledgeable to chat to, he explained local history, wildlife, and gave us a great insight into the culture. He was candid, friendly, and understood our relaxed vibe quickly. He even phoned the owner of our next accommodation as we had some trouble finding it while driving (it was in the bush in the middle of nowhere) which we also were very grateful for.
Thank you Deshan for being our friend for the day, and for doing so much driving and hard work for us on Sri Lankan Independence Day too! Sian and James x
