Hideaway Island Marine Reserve的点评
点评：Great place where to spend a morning or afternoon. I believe they also have a hotel there.
You need to ask the taxi driver or bus driver to take you to “Mele beach”. Taxis might charge you 2,000 VT whilst the bus is only 200. It also very easy to get a bus back to Port Vila for 150-200. It is easy to get a bus.
From Mele beach there is a little boat (free of charge) that will take you to the island. The trip takes 5 min. Once you arrive you go to the visitor center where you need to pay 2,000 VT (17 USD aprox) as entry fee and you can buy the water-resistant postcards that you can leave in the underwater post office. The postcards cost 600 VT (5 USD) and they include the stamp. You can also rent the snorkeling equipment. You can pay by Card.
The beach area is gorgeous and has a nice bar/restaurant with reasonable prices. I was travelling solo and felt safe leaving my belongings by the beach when I went snorkeling.
Entering the water might be a bit difficult for some as there are stones/corals so if you’re not wearing fins you may wanna have water shoes. Personally I only had flip flops and it was ok. Once you enter the water you will see the corals and lots of fish. If you swim 2 minutes you will reach a floating platform. The underwater post office is right there at 2-3 meters deep. Very easy to see/take photos/deliver the postcard without any diving equipment.
Take into account there are lots of corals and some of them are very close to the surface. I saw some people with bruises and little injuries so you might wanna swim around the coral to get to the beach.
I found it fascinating that there are so many corals and beautiful fish so close to the shore.

请注意，珊瑚很多，有些离水面很近。我看到有些人身上有淤青和小伤，所以你最好绕着珊瑚游，然后再游回岸边。
我发现离岸边这么近的地方竟然有这么多珊瑚和美丽的鱼，真是太神奇了。
