Love, love, love Olden - it's such a gem of a place!

点评：Second visit to Olden as part of a cruise. I will never tire of visiting this small but perfect area.
There are a few shops by the cruise dock as well as the outdoor pursuits centre which also houses a cafe/bar/restaurant.
Additionally, there are land-trains which run from here. The cost was around £25 per person for well over an hour. This is a brilliant way to see the scenery, take masses of photos and just take in the sheer beauty of the surroundings. The driver gives a running commentary as you go and explains the main stops on the tour including a stop at the centre of the town/village which has a couple more shops and cafes. You can get the land-train back to the dock or walk back which only takes 10-15 mins depending on how quick you walk.
Olden isn't a big place and doesn't have the 'whistles and bells' of larger places in Norway but it's an absolute gem. It is perfectly situated on the Innvikfjorden which also gives you great views sailing into and out of port. It's great for walking and there's loads of things to do in the vicinity such as the Loen skywalk and Briskdal glacier.
The shops are a bit touristy and can be a little pricey, but you can also pick up some bargains whilst there.
The other thing we love about this port is the sail-away as the locals give you a proper send-off with music and flag-waving which is absolutely great and superb to be part of.
