Pros
Nice horses who were calm, knew the route and easy to ride.
Flatish easy route along wide sandy roads in the forest.
Cons
Horse care - the horses were fly ridden over their eyes, faces, ears, main and in their gums. Consequently, they were driven to distraction throughout the 90 minute ride, shaking their heads vigorously, snorting and lashing their tails. One horse tripped while shaking and their rider slid off. Both were fine, the horse limped for a short while, but it could have been any of us. My horse was so bitten by the end their chest was splattered with blood. We saw other riders on the trail and in El Rocio with untroubled horses and a quick Google shows this was entirely avoidable.
Guide - we booked with Naturanda who knew we were an English Group so it is not the guide's fault he didn't speak Spanish, but someone in our group did. However, he made no effort to provide anything but the minimum, especially compared to previous animal experiences. We had helmets but no check they fit. We had the shortest guide to steering a horse and practice in a sand box while he left to close up. He didn't introduce himself, the animals or any information about the route or general guidance for the beginner. Then he walked the route with us while on the phone the entire time.
This experience is too basic for expert riders and too minimalistic for beginners.
