Tallac Historic Site的点评
点评：We’ve visited Tallac before, but really as a drive by, on our way to / from somewhere else. We decided to make our visit yesterday more of a destination, and we’re so glad we did!
We walked the entire length of the shore path, which runs from Pope Beach to Kiva Beach, and has amazing views and plenty of benches to sit and take in the scenery.
We then visited the museum, watched the informative film about the area, and had nice conversations with the Forest Service staff and volunteers. We visited all of the out buildings and chatted with the Blacksmith and Boathouse volunteers. We bought some unique keepsakes from the gift shop and secured tickets for a tour of the Pope House. The tour was the highlight of our day. We had a fun group and the tour guides were dressed in period clothing and provided tons of great history about the house, owners and other turn of the century resorts in the area. I even got to play “Larry”, which was a hoot. After our tour, the “Butler” gave us some great restaurant recommendations. We ended up spending about 6 hours at Tallac, and loved every minute of it!
