点评:My wife and I had our first date at the Belly Up Tavern in 1989! Back then, it was a great place to see live music. 35 years later, it still is. We saw the Paladins on that first date and we saw them again on this recent visit.
The venue itself is slightly more upscale than it used to be, but not a whole lot has changed. There are a few reserved VIP seats, if you want to pay a premium, and then a few more seats available on a first come basis. It is mostly a standing auditorium, so arrive early if you want to snag a seat.
The sound system is great and the venue is intimate, so you'll get to see and hear the band up close. The drinks are around $15 and they offer some craft beers in addition a few beers on tap. We didn't get any food, but they do have a full dinner menu available.
Believe it or not, there is free street parking available if you get there early enough. I like the laid-back North County San Diego vibe and it is a fun venue to see your favorite band.
