点评:We had perhaps the best wine tasting experience we’ve ever had in Aotearoa New Zealand at On Giants' Shoulders. Seriously. You need to make an appointment here, which was so easy, we did it via email. Sarah was absolutely wonderful to correspond with. On arrival, this simple, neat, yet beautiful vineyard easily accommodated our vehicle of 7-metres and we were met by the lovely Sam. What made this wine tasting different, was Sam invited us to have a wonder through the vines, with a glass of white in our hands, perhaps doesn’t sound like a lot, but it was! Sam explained in an easy to follow, interesting way, what On Giants' Shoulders are about, what they do and excitingly, where they are going!! To be outside of the tasting room, immersed in the, well nature you could say, was refreshing. We didn’t spend ages out, as it was a tad chilly, but long enough, and afterwards we continued out tasting inside the tasting room. The tasting room is a very modern, modest, stripped back area, as was the tasting. Nothing pretentious, or over the top, nothing to make you feel pressured to make any purchases. It was just, lovely! We felt like we could have sat there, for ages, just enjoying the wine and the surrounds. We felt so comfortable. When we left, my partner and I said, ‘that was the best tasting experience we’ve had in New Zealand.’ We are so exciting for the future of this winery, and what the team may do here. We will be back. Always! Thanks Sarah and Sam for making it so lovely for us. Ngā manaakitanga.
