点评:Very confused by the changes...
We just left our second visit to Wild Horse Hot Springs. The first time we stopped by to soak was a few years ago. At that time it was very primitive, the tubs were out in the open much like the picture you see on this page of the tube overlooking the pond. That visit was glorious and the reason we went back. Imagine out surprise when we discovered that "progress" had developed square concrete soaking pits, pretty much fenced off from the views. In regards to hospitality, on the plus side we had decided to camp there in our trailer and were warmly checked in by "Pearl" in the front office who very kindly got us set up with a spot to park and plug in. Also, we were treated very well by a dark-haired woman who was managing the sprinklers the morning we left and helped us pull out easily. On the not so plus side, although we were literally the only people camping there, we were sternly told and then reminded that check out time was 11am - the inference seemed ti be that we'd be charged in we went over. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but the rates here might explain why it did...
A few things to know before you go:
-There are two roads in from Hwy 28, both are really rough washboard gravel, but Koff Rd is the better of the two. It's a three mile drive that took us 25 minutes to make. When we called, I wish someone had suggested that - our dark-haired helper was kind enough to give me a clue on the way out. The other road nearly shook our camper apart!
-The rates are high. $65 to park and plug in over night, but that does not include the fee to soak. $19 per person to soak, but that did include 24 hr access and they allow clothing optional after dark. $10 for each pet (although the property has strays and dogs running loose every where)
-Although disappointed with the design and way it's being developed (fencing blocking views, etc) the water is nice, clean and well maintained.
It was an ok experience, but I seriously doubt we'll return
- Lastly, even though we paid cash, they insisted on holding a charge card. My card number. along with the security code and zip code was written down on a hard-copy page and placed in an unsecured notebook. It made me uneasy enough to go back the next morning and ask to see the form so that I could scribble out my ##'s for the sake of security.
Just something worth considering
