Nutcracker Village的点评
点评：After looking at photos on the official website, it seemed much different than what it actually is. My perception (from website photos) was that it was a created little "nutcracker village". I thought it was a park like area created for the holidays where it was all inclusive of nutcracker statues, Christmas lights, shops, music, entertainment. In essence, a self contained created village. That is not what this is. There is a short walkway with lights at the fort with 10 or so portable shops (of which were all closed due to it being a Monday). Separately, in an area of downtown, the nutcracker statues are spread out in a 6 to 10 block area and displayed on sidewalks. Supposedly, sponsored by the town library, you can obtain a paper map and visit each of the statues, write down a fact of each one, then after doing this for over 200 statues, you could turn in the completed map for a prize. We tried to find out more about this, but almost no one we talked to in town knew much of anything about this. It was even difficult to find the so called map to begin. At the bookstore (one of 2 or 3 businesses open) we talked to an employee who said he had "small tree ornaments" as prizes, but that was all he knew about it, and if we had not asked, how would we know he had the prizes? Despite all the disappointment and confusion, we did enjoy walking around the town and seeing the nutcracker statues.
