A peaceful place with a rich variety of birds
Aqaba Bird Observatory的点评
点评：Being used to birding in Wadi Rum, where sightings can be few and far between, I really enjoyed my visit to the Aqaba Bird Observatory.
Getting there was straightforward, and the border checkpoint was relaxed. They no longer keep your passport. On arrival, I received a warm welcome and a clear explanation of the area. There’s a map available at the visitor center, and if it’s your first visit, it’s worth taking a photo of it before heading out.
A great bonus is that you can borrow binoculars if you don’t have your own. The staff is passionate, knowledgeable, and happy to help, which adds a lot to the experience.
I ended up spending around four hours. It’s a peaceful place, with very few visitors, making it ideal for focused birding. If you’re looking to see a wide variety of species in a relatively short time, this is definitely a place to consider, especially during migration season when activity is at its peak.
Since you’ll be exposed to the sun for most of the visit, it’s a good idea to wear protective clothing and a hat.
