提尔顿国家公园的点评
点评：Holy Berkeley Hills! We enjoyed a lovely, hilly hike in Tilden Park on a wide, paved fire road, starting at the Inspiration Point Parking lot. This parking area has ample, free parking - maybe 30 spaces - and picnic tables. Plus there are benches overlooking 180 degree vistas. And bathroom facilities. We hiked about 2 1/4 miles and turned back at a fork in the road, but the trails go much farther. Trees line both sides of the path, but you will be hiking in the sun the entire time. This is a good path for a large group because it is so wide and well maintained.
The added bonuses that I want to tell you about, though, are the drive to Tilden Park through Berkeley. If you have kids in the car, they will absolutely love this. Drive through town on Buchanan Avenue to The Circle (a roundabout) where you will find a fountain in the middle of the circle with gargoyle statues. If that's not cool enough, then take the spoke off the roundabout onto Marin Avenue. It is absolutely straight uphill. If that doesn't impress the kids, then I'm sorry. It's such a fun drive. I am really glad I found this route.
