点评：Our whānau had the privilege of experiencing the Maunga Hikurangi sunrise tour and it was something we will remember for a long time.
From the very beginning, Monty made us feel welcome and ensured everything was organised smoothly. The early 5:15am start was well worth it. Standing on the maunga in the darkness, watching the colours of dawn appear before sunrise, was a truly special moment.
Even though it was a very cold morning and Tawhirimatea made his presence known, the atmosphere, the views, and the significance of being in that place made it unforgettable.
The kōrero shared by Monty about Māui-Tikitiki-a-Taranga, the carvings, and Ngāti Porou history added so much depth to the experience. It wasn’t just a sightseeing trip - it was an opportunity to connect with the stories, culture, and mana of the place.
We really appreciated the care taken with our whānau, the time given to answer questions, and the photos and information shared afterwards so we could continue reflecting on the experience.
