A fantastic safety feature to note is that portable automated external defibrillators are available along both trails, which provides great peace of mind given the intensity of the hikes and indicates that you should the trail climb seriously and be fit for it.
I decided to take the BCMC trail on the way down. Surprisingly, I found the descent just as hard as the climb—if not more difficult! The trail is covered in exposed tree roots, which makes your footing and grip much less stable than on stairs, even on a completely dry day. Poles or sturdy footwear are highly recommended.Once you reach the peak, your hard work pays off. There are plenty of food and drink options, alongside great activities included with mountain access, such as the Lumberjack Show, the Birds in Motion demonstration, and visiting the resident grizzly bears in their habitat. You can also book extra adventures like ziplining.
