点评:I was hoping we'd get to ride one of those cute ferries to Granville Island. Instead, we ended up using transit: we were coming from Coal Harbour area and it was more practical to just ride the bus. We took TransLink bus route 50 (adult fare, $3.35) which was a 15-min ride followed by a 5-min walk under the Granville Street Bridge. Getting to Granville Island by transit meant we got to see the big illuminated Granville Island entrance sign under the bridge.
After we passed the Granville Island sign, we continued on to Duranleau St (left at the crossroads), the Maritime Market retail stores on our left, still closed as it was not yet 10AM. We headed straight to the Ferry Dock for a view of False Creek Inlet, Burrard Street Bridge and Downtown. From here, we walked to the Public Market Courtyard. Those familiar with Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol would recognize it as the Seattle stand-in filming location for the final scene where Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt gathers his team for the next mission. There are picnic tables and benches here so we sat for a while, taking in the waterfront scenery. I even had my photo taken while I held open the yellow door to the Granville Island Public Market—my recreation of the scene where Michelle Monaghan's Julia noticed Ethan watching her from a distance.
We explored Granville Island Public Market and had lunch inside. Washroom facilities available. We only stayed 2 hrs on Granville Island as we also planned to visit nearby attractions. Afterwards, we made our way to the Museum of Vancouver on foot.
