点评：Built in 1983-85 for Vancouver’s global coming out party, the EXPO 86 World’s Fair (as Canada’s largest ever national pavilion), Canada Place is still the defining destination complex for the city. Here you can interact with the comings and goings of Vancouver’s busy port (cargo-container ships/Alaska cruise ships/coastal seaplanes/commuter helicopters/sea-bus traffic) through a myriad of expansive multi-level perimeter promenades. Self-guided tours and free entertainment is via numerous city information/story interpretive signs, the Port of Vancouver’s public interactive information centre, outdoor federal information displays and daily public events. Inside features the iconic Pan Pacific hotel complex with numerous restaurants, bars, shops and cafes. There is also the main city cruise ship terminal, two levels of pay parking, Vancouver’s World Trade Centre, the popular FLY-OVER CANADA ride attraction (in the former Canada Pavilion/CN IMAX theatre area), the original east portion of the Vancouver Convention Centre (under the white sails) and a host of other activities. Definitely do FLY-OVER, a walkabout the promenades and maybe lunch or afternoon tea at the Pan Pacific (5 Sails restaurant with amazing views of the harbour, coastal mountains and Stanley Park. Hint - check out a small info plaque outside the front of the street level entrance to the convention centre - there’s a homage to EXPO 86’s Canada National Exhibit with photos.
